The Venue

On the way out of town, Theron suggested looking at the hotel he and I had stayed in when our plane left us early for our Florida vacation. This was a nice place where we really pampered ourselves after grueling hours of bike riding on the Katy Trail.

We walked in and they were very professional and helped us right away. They seem like the right place for us to have the wedding. We also like the location of Columbia during the summer when the town is (kinda) dead, relatively speaking. It should also be easier for T's out-of-town family to find things in Columbia versus the metro-St. Louis area. Plus, there is something about the town that is very calming and everything is in one place. Theron and I also loved the venue and it held special memories for us as that is where we went on our first looooong Katy Trail bikeride and that was also the trip where Theron got to see and experinece the beauty of mid-MO for the first time.

This is the outside of the room we will be in for the rehearsal dinner. It has direct patio access for those who smoke (since Columbia passed a no-smoking policy for indoors).

Here are some more pictures of the grounds. Here are some of the balcony rooms and of course, the swimming area, which is half inside and half outside. They also have a hot tub, game room, full bar, etc. We blocked out 50 rooms, so we will have most of the hotel to ourselves.
